it's a magical time of year. recorded live at via vaudeville! HQ in a different room to usual is our second annual christmas special. in a festive feast of a show spencer is frozen alive and then thawed out again, a new jingle makes it's horrific debut, chaffe brings a tear to the eye with his christmas speech, and the man at the door turns out not to be annual gift man after all. best of all though are the festive favourites re recorded by some of nottingham's best bands.... and they are:

Stone 3, Cuban Crimewave, Yunioshi, Nuclear Family, Spaceships are Cool........ you also get Not in Nottingham's version of driving home for christmas which is rubbish.

and you thought we'd gone away for good.... no chance! Not in Nottingham returns after a 4 month hiatus and put their artistic differences aside to reunite for the 17th podcast recorded live at via vaudeville! HQ in radford. despite all the team hating each other and contractual stipulations that certain members cannot be present in the same room the show is still top notch. in the show spencer meddles with the dark arts, we deal with a sack load of complaints, our first feature for girls makes its debut, we show the bbc and gmtv how a honest competition should be done, a carry on film for the noughties is created, everyone forgets to mention lee has moved to manchester despite really meaning to, chaffe's art guide goes next level and we find out about tom's special shoe. we still love doing this, it's still got some decent people and good banter, it still makes you smile and occasionally laugh..... and it's still all for nowt! Hello all sorry we've been away for so long. the summer has been difficult with everyone either workng or not working and being abroad. anyways to make up for our absence and to prepare you all for our return here is the first in our new series of mixtapes. whenever we are unable to bring you a new not in nottingham we will endeavor to publish mixtapes put together by anyone who wants to create one. the first mixtape we proudly present was currated by notts electro motorhomer alf m and takes in colourbox, cha cha cohen and durutti column, there's also a little jackie mason thrown in for good measure. we hope you enjoy it, another one will be up soon and a brand new not in nottingham should be here before august is out. if you fancy making us a mix we'd love that. - not in nottingham team -

Back after a long absence with the 15th show recorded live at via vaudeville! HQ. In the show loads of great Notts tunes, spencer changes the face of science, dan slowly loses his mind, a guest sits on the guest sofa, we make a few mistakes, a foul mouthed letter is recieved and everyone is happy that we don't have to put the heaters on this week. it's all for nowt as well.

the 14th show recorded live at Via Vaudeville! HQ in the quite mild heart of Nottingham. In the show some amazing Notts tunes (and one from derby), two of the team get jobs, we find out what happened to Not in Nottingham#13 and why Dennis Norden is interested in it, the guest sofa gets some more use, Spencer interview's Richard and Judy in writing, Chaffe spends most of the show on hold trying to get through to orange, our employee of the month is announced and anglo-french relations are strengthened. With some well meant banter, some nice enough folk and as always all for nowt.

the 12th show recorded live at Via Vaudeville! HQ on another freezing february night in Nottingham. In the show some quality Notts tunes (and one from a band who are coming to Notts), Spencer takes science outside and for once conducts an experiment, we find out who described Tom as prickly, the team seamlessly recovers from a broken mic incident, another guest takes their place on the sofa, the interview in writing gets political, Chaffe's artistic credibility takes another battering thanks to the gig and art guide rap, Sadie says the address in a lovely fashion, some terrifying (if slightly out of date now) news is broken and the winners of our car sticker giveaway are announced. with some decent people, some half decent banter and, as always, all for nowt.

In the show an unbelievable selection of Notts tunes, spencer designs a car, we finally make use of the guest sofa, a tearful reunion is engineered, an apocalyptic future is revealed, the gig and arts guide is hijacked, we set oursleves up for a good old suing, chaffe rides the fader, you can win a car sticker, we hear about some of the features that never quite made it, and science doesn't really take place. with some decent people, some carelessly slanderous banter and as always all for nowt.

The show features very special reworkings of christmas classics by some of Notts finest bands, festive science sees spencer on the trail of a miracle, chaffe moves us all to tears with his christmas speech, we try out christmas day booze, pull a few crackers, celebrate the return of some old friends, and generally enjoy the season. some festive people, some festive banter and as it's about the giving at this time of year it's all for nowt.

HQ in the industrial heart of Notts. plenty of cracking Notts tunes, Tom invents a feature so he can break his own rules, we find out what Tim had in tuesdays episode of doctors, Spencer tries to find out if you can make your dinner in a kettle, Tim and Lee put themselves at risk of salmonella, Chaffe tells us what is happening and how to get there, an internet related episode threatens the recording of the show, we find an unlikely winner of pod idol, Spencer conducts an interview in writing and we all look forward to the christmas episode. There is still some good banter and the people are generally ok and as always, unlike graham torrington's, it's all for nowt.

the 8th show recorded live at Via Vaudeville! HQ in the industrial heart of Notts. Some amazing Notts tunes with a bit of Derby thrown in again, Spencer makes Halloween and Bonfire night do battle and one of them is destroyed, we visit the Nottingham beer festival to award the Not in Nottingham best brew title, one of us is sick in a bucket afterwards, Scotty meets the smears, Blue returns to the studio to help chaffe with his gig and arts guide, Tom rudely interrupts Chaffe's gig and arts guide, we find out exactly where to go on sunday 29th october, pod idol becomes the new bus bingo, we learn about the mysterious Nottingham legend Anne Briggs, the team gains an explosives expert, we find out about the fraggles and cloaks of invisibility and miraculously no one gets hurt. Still with some/10 decent people, still with some half decent banter and as always, altogether now, still all for nowt.

the 7th show recorded live at Via Vaudeville! HQ in the industrial heart of Notts. Full of cracking Notts tunes with another bit of derby thrown in, Spencer takes science to the lab and nearly dies, pod idol becomes our most succesful competition ever, the live room/shower gets it's first use with Ashley Askin, Lee interrupts from Prague, we try to get to the bottom of the mystery box at goose fair, Tim goes to a premiere, we hear from the screenwriter behind 'brothers of the head' and 'fear and loathing', Chaffe creates a catchphrase and destroys his future artistic credibility, we enjoy this, Chaffe also recommends plenty of gigs worth getting to, Agony Robot says hello and no one mentions scunthorpe. Still with 7 reasonably good people and some reasonably good banter and as always still all for nowt.

Some incredible Notts tunes with a bit of Leicester thrown in, Spencer takes science back outside and learns about gravity, Dan's computer melts, our microwave gets quarantined, we say an emotional goodbye to radio's greatest competition (twice), Pod Idol is launched, Tom's mum doesn't win Pod Idol, we find out who's got badittude, Chaffe and Blue tell us what's going on, where it's going on at and at what time it all starts, we catch up with Majik backstage at Rock City, we slur our words during a visit to opus, we find out about the incident that ruined Chaffe's day at angel row and all the while Buttsy snaps his heart out. Still with good people still with good banter and yes it is, as always, still all for nowt.

Some cracking Notts tunes with a bit of Derby thrown in (lets get along guys), Radio's best feature 'simple things for simple minds' is launched, Bus Bingo does what it normally does, One girl turns up and then leaves, We explore the world of local radio, The show moves to a new room, Lee gets in actual trouble with the law, Foncheros deliver an amazing live session, Chaffe keeps us up to date on all things art, Paddy gets stopped by security taking a microwave from capital one, Agony Robot doesn't come home, we find out where in gods name everyone got to last week. Still with some mildly entertaining and often enlightening banter, Still with some good people and as always still all for nowt.
